Layer upon layer of pink and violet canyon walls fall away to the river far below, with the line A Free Government Service above the park name. This silkscreen poster was designed by C. Don Powell for the National Park Service in 1938 as part of the Works Progress Administration's Federal Art Project. As a work of the U.S. government it is in the public domain; this print reproduces it from the Library of Congress's high-resolution scan of an original poster, with the poster's own paper edge and small signs of age kept.
Why you'll love it
• A real 1930s national park poster, reproduced in full - not a modern WPA-style redraw
• Bold flat silkscreen colors that suit a living room, office, cabin or kids' room
• Pairs with the other Ranger Naturalist Service posters for a national park gallery wall
