For the forager's kitchen: the fly agaric, the porcini (penny bun) and the parasol mushroom, drawn and hand-colored by English naturalist James Sowerby for his Coloured Figures of English Fungi or Mushrooms (c. 1797-1800). Each print reproduces a hand-colored engraving, now in the public domain, from a scan of the New York Botanical Garden copy on the Internet Archive; later pencil notes in the margin have been removed so only the original plates show.
