For the gardener who grows them taller every year - white irises with gold throats climb a tall green stem in Pierre-Joseph Redoute's Iris ochroleuca from Les Liliacees (1802-16), a vintage flower print for a bedroom or hallway. It reproduces Redoute's watercolor on vellum, painted for Empress Josephine's garden at Malmaison and now in the public domain, from a high-resolution open-access image by the National Gallery of Art.
