A red book glows at the center of a blue globe, ringed like a beacon, with the words Chicago Public Library Week - The Public Library, An American Institution. This silkscreen poster was made by the Illinois WPA Art Project in Chicago, between 1936 and 1941. It is a work of the US government, now in the public domain, reproduced from a high-resolution scan by the Library of Congress.
