A blue bird with a sharp tail perches among pale yellow hibiscus flowers and broad leaves, above a band of soft blue, with a poem brushed in the sky. Utagawa Hiroshige made this color woodblock print around 1832. This print reproduces the original, now in the public domain, from a high-resolution open-access image by The Metropolitan Museum of Art (object 36733).
