A tiger cub tumbles over its mother as she stretches out on the ground, both drawn in soft crayon strokes. Eugène Delacroix made this lithograph for the magazine L'Artiste in 1831; the original printed caption, Jeune Tigre jouant avec sa mère, runs along the bottom margin. This print reproduces the original, now in the public domain, from a high-resolution open-access image by The Metropolitan Museum of Art (object 337357), with the tone and texture of the old paper kept.
