A black cat sits tall against a glowing halo in Théophile-Alexandre Steinlen's poster for the touring company of Le Chat Noir, the Montmartre cabaret run by Rodolphe Salis. Printed in Paris in 1896, it became one of the best-known images of the Belle Époque. This print reproduces the original lithograph from the Rijksmuseum's public-domain image.
Why you'll love it
• Real 1896 artwork, reproduced from the original poster - not a modern 'vintage style' imitation
• Bold black, orange and red that read from across a room
• A natural fit for a home bar, bar cart corner, hallway or any cat lover's wall
• Pairs with Privat-Livemont's Absinthe Robette and Toulouse-Lautrec's Divan Japonais for a Paris café gallery wall
