A small sparrow darting above red camellias heavy with fresh snow, from a color woodblock print by Utagawa Hiroshige, made around 1845. This print reproduces the original Japanese woodblock, now in the public domain, from a museum archival scan.
Why you'll love it • Real Edo-period artwork by Hiroshige - not a modern imitation • Soft snow-gray paper with red camellia and deep green leaves - calm winter color for an entryway, bedroom or reading nook • Pairs with Hiroshige's Egrets amid Irises and Taito II's Carp and Waterweeds as a Japanese woodblock gallery wall
Print details • 200gsm matte poster paper, archival inks • Sizes: 11x14, 12x18, 16x24 inches • The original is a tall, narrow print, so we print it centered with a paper-tone margin to keep the full artwork - nothing is cropped • Unframed - fits standard frames
